Flouride Therapy
Fluoride therapy is the delivery of fluoride to the teeth topically or systemically in order to prevent tooth decay (dental caries) which results in cavities. Most commonly, fluoride is applied topically to the teeth using gels, varnishes, toothpaste/dentifrices or mouth rinse. While it is true that our water and some foods are treated with fluoride, it is often not enough to protect teeth from decay.
During your cleaning at our clinic, you’ll be given a fluoride rinse to protect and harden the enamel of your teeth. Fluoride helps to make your tooth enamel more resistant to bacteria and acids that may contribute to tooth decay and sensitivity.
You should always remember to rinse and brush your teeth after any meal especially if you’ve been eating or drinking highly acidic foods and beverages, like coffee, cola, candy, lemons, etc. The procedure is quick and pain free.
Make sure you brush with a toothpaste that contains fluoride to keep your teeth strong and healthy.
