Maximum annual deductible amounts Maximum annual dollar amounts Limitations on the frequency of visits and procedures Percentage of fees covered by the province’s fixed fee guide
Having dental coverage is a benefit to you and your family but your dental plan is a contract between you, your employer and the insurance company providing the benefits.
As a patient the payment for fees is your responsibility. Dental plans are created to assist you to pay for your dental treatments but not all treatments are eligible or fully reimbursable. It is important to understand that some necessary treatment are not covered expenses. Further, you may want a more premium service such as precision denture that isn’t covered.
Your dental insurance is not a treatment policy, it is a reimbursement plan and all treatment and care decisions should be made by you based upon actual needs, independent of your dental plan coverage.
